Ctrl-Shift’s philosophy is to put you in control of your data wherever possible so that you can use it to make better decisions. The principles that we operate under are:

- That we won’t sell or rent your details to anyone.
- That your information is yours, even though it may have been created or stored on our site.

The information we collect about you
When you browse our website, we process information about you and your activity – including information like the pages you are browsing through, device IDs, IP addresses, cookie data and location.
We also collect information when you voluntarily register for our newsletter, Market Watch. If you register with us, you will create your own account and maintain your own record. If you wish to delete your account, you must email us to request this.
How we use the information about you
We collect information about you to contact you in relation to the services which Ctrl-Shift provides and we believe may be of interest to you.
Registered users will automatically receive our Market Watch Alert. If you no longer wish to receive the alert you can unsubscribe using the link in the email or email us and we will remove you from the mailing list.
We do not use behavioural targeting. We believe that this process is contrary to the principle that the user is in control.
We do not pass your details onto any third parties for sales and marketing purposes. However, we do pass on your details – where strictly necessary – to third parties solely to deliver our products and services. For example with our email distribution service or, if you attend one of our events, we may have to pass your name to the venue to allow you entry.
We are UK based and our website is hosted in the United Kingdom and the majority of your data is held in the UK.
Some of the data we store about you is held outside the EEA. For example, we use a US based email service provider and a copy of your email address (and some preferences) are held in the United States. However, as far as we can possibly ascertain, all the services that we use can only survive if they keep personal data safe and secure.
We keep your details on our website systems for as long as you are active with us. Once the purpose(s) for which your data was originally collected no longer applies, it will be deleted or archived, unless we are obliged to keep it for compliance with our legal obligations.
